Specifying pre- and post-encoding tasks

When you use the Adobe Media Encoder to encode your projects for Web or DVD delivery, you can add certain filters or make changes before you encode your sequence. You can apply noise reduction, crop or scale your video, or apply a deinterlacing filter to your project. After exporting your project, you can have Adobe Premiere Pro create a log file or FTP the encoded file to a server.

To specify pre- or post-encoding tasks:

  1. Select the sequence you want to export, and choose File > Export > Adobe Media Encoder.
  2. Choose the format and preset you want to use.
  3. On the left side of the Transcode Settings dialog box, select either Pre Encoding Tasks or Post Encoding Tasks.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • For Pre Encoding tasks, choose a filter from the Add Filter menu.
    • For Post Encoding tasks, choose a task from the Add Post Encode Task menu.
  5. Adjust the filter options. (See Understanding Pre Encoding task options.)
  6. You can save your settings as a preset by clicking the Save Preset button.
  7. Click OK.
