The tables in these topics show the default keyboard shortcuts; keyboard alternatives to program functions normally accessed with the mouse. Only shortcuts which are defined by default are listed in these tables, however you can create a shortcut for almost every command available in the software.
You can also create a text (.txt) file that lists all of the commands and their shortcuts by clicking Write Keyboard Chart on the Keyboard panel of the Customize User Interface dialog. If the command has no shortcut assigned, it is still listed, however the adjacent column is blank.
As the tables show, the keyboard shortcut system has been expanded in version 5 of the software.
For tools found on the menu bar, the keyboard shortcut is displayed to the right of the menu item.

Free-Form Deformation (FFD) Shortcuts
To create a keyboard shortcut:
Choose Customize Menu > Customize User Interface > Keyboard tab.
Use the Group and Category lists to find the action for which you want to create a shortcut.
Click an action in the Action list to highlight it.
In the Hotkey field, enter the keyboard shortcut you want to assign to the action.
Click Assign.
Note: To use keyboard shortcuts other than the Main User Interface shortcuts, the Keyboard Shortcut Override Toggle on the status bar must be turned on.
