Isolate Object's Layer

Layers toolbar > Isolate Object’s Layer

Isolate Object’s Layer, available from the Layers toolbar, turns off all layers except the layer of the selected object(s). The selected object’s layer becomes the current layer.

The layers can be turned back on by clicking Undo Last Isolate Layer.

Procedures

To isolate the layer(s) of your current selection:

  1. Select the object(s) whose layer(s) you want to isolate.

  2. On the Layers toolbar, click Isolate Object’s Layer.

    All objects not assigned to the selected layer(s) will be turned off.

To isolate the layer(s) of a group of objects:

  1. On the Layers toolbar, click Isolate Object’s Layer.

  2. Select the object(s) whose layer(s) you want to isolate.

  3. When you finish your selection, right-click in the viewport or press ENTER.

    All objects not assigned to the selected layer(s) will be turned off.
