Sample Type

Material Editor > Sample Type

The buttons on the Sample Type flyout, choose the type of preview object used in the active sample slot:

Sphere (the default)

Cube

Cylinder

Custom object

If you have used the Material Editor Options dialog to assign a Custom Sample Object file, an additional button appears at the right of this flyout. The button, which shows a question mark, displays the custom sample object in the active sample slot.
